Annika Rickne is docent and associate professor at CIRCLE, Lund University (www.circle.lu.se) and director of research at the Dahmén Institute (www.dahmeninstitutet.se). Rickne’s broad interest is economic growth initiated by new scientific or technological knowledge, creating opportunities that reshape existing knowledge fields and industries or gives rise to the evolution of new ones. On the evolution and commercialization of new technologies and industries and the related policies, current projects include an international analysis of the field of regenerative medicine, understanding of the regulation of biotech in Europe, examination of regional development initiatives within biomedicine, as well as analysis of early commercialization of stem cell related research.
