Rolf A. Lundin holds a licentiate degree in Business Administration from the Gothenburg School of Economics and Business Administration and a PhD from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago (Illinois, USA).

From 1978 through 2001 he held a chair in Business Administration at the University of Umeå. From May 2001 he is the dean (managing director) of Jönköping International Business School. He is also chairing the Swedish Project Academy and he is president of International Federation of Scholarly Associations in Management.

In the past, his research interests have covered computer simulation and management science. In the late 70s he switched to human aspects of organizations. During the last 10 years he has concentrated on research related to project management and temporary organizations. The research has covered research on projects per se, but also on projects in situ, i e on projects as part of their environment. What will happen to companies in a world characterized by projects is a relevant question addressed.
